@jow- can we get this merged and backported to 22.03?

You can't merge because it's half baked. Fix will not have any effect if you have multiple wan interfaces

eg PPPoE users create a WAN inteface to access modem eg User need second - third - forth etc WAN interface with tagged VLAN for VoIP

As i understand the only solution is this FIX and an option to select only one WAN interface (this means further development in luci package) OR a kernel fix.

What i did. I deleted the WAN interface that i created to access my bridged modem, changed it's lan ip and connected it directly to lan port until this is fixed but others might a have a more complex set up with multiple WAN interfaces with PPP, IPTV, Voice etc an that might be difficult to accomplish and that's why a fix inside the kernel would be better.
